Theological Compatibility
Parents can be assured that their child's Lutheran faith education is not a barrier should they ever choose to worship in the Catholic tradition. The Catholic Church recognizes Lutheran baptisms, marriages and weekly communion. While Lutheran confirmation is not identical to the Catholic sacrament of Confirmation, the faith formation received in the Lutheran Church is respected and provides a meaningful Christian foundation that is recognized within Catholic-Lutheran ecumenical relationships since the mid 20th century. The following denominations also concur: Anglican, Episcopalian, Methodist, Moravian, Presbyterian and the United Church of Christ.

Our Confirmation Classes
Cross of Christ offers a solid confirmation program for young people who would like to affirm their faith. Students learn about Biblical scripture, Christian faith, worship, and what it means to follow Jesus. Young people from other Christian traditions are welcome to attend if they didn’t got around to it at their home church. This is a three-year program that holds 22-24 classes per year starting in October and ending on Pentecost Sunday each spring. We traditionally start with 6th graders, but we usually have all different ages of teenagers. It is not unusual to have older students and we welcome their mature input.
