Our Confirmation Classes
We offer a strong confirmation program for young people who want to affirm their faith. Students explore Scripture, Christian belief, worship, and what it means to follow Jesus. The program is free and typically lasts three years to complete. There are 22–24 classes each year, beginning in October and ending on Pentecost Sunday in the spring. Although our program usually begins with sixth graders, we welcome teenagers of all ages. Older students are not uncommon, and we value the maturity and perspective they bring.

Theological Compatibility
Parents can be assured that their child's Lutheran faith education is not a barrier should they ever choose to worship in the Catholic tradition. The Catholic Church recognizes Lutheran baptisms, marriages and weekly communion.  While Lutheran confirmation is not the same as the Catholic sacrament of Confirmation, Lutheran faith formation gives young people a strong Christian foundation that is compatible with Catholic teachings in many important ways.  The Lutheran faith has long been respected within Lutheran-Catholic ecumenical dialogue and have developed strong relationships since the middle of the 20th century.  Lutheran faith formation is also broadly compatible with many mainline Protestant denominations, including Anglican/Episcopalian, Methodist, Moravian, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ communities, as they share core Christian beliefs, Scripture, and baptismal identity.
